Medicines manufacturing plant opened by “Diamed Development Group” LLC is the first medicine production plant in Azerbaijan and South Caucasus. President Ilham Aliyev launched the plant on August 15, 2023. The goal was to develop the pharmaceutical industry producing vital and necessary medicinal fluids, meet the demands of the population and create reserves, reduce dependence on medicinal imports, also to increase workplaces. The plant conforms to GMP standards; the production lines are in accordance with ISO 14644-4, ISO 9001, equipped with machinery from Italy, USA and Israel. The plant produces absolutely safe top-notch products. Flacons are made of medical-grade Polypropylene by INEOS, the world`s largest polypropylene producer.

The fully automated factory includes the production line made of water preparation area, medicine preparation area, blow-forming, filling and sealing area (BFS), sterilization area, and packaging area. The Plant currently produces intravenous fluids (NaCl 0.9%, Ringer, Ringer Lactate, Glucose 5%, Glucose 10%) of 5 different sizes – 100ml, 200ml, 250ml, 400ml, 500ml with the slogan of “Made in Azerbaijan”. The sterility and quality of the produced medicines are regularly checked in the in-house quality control labs that are equipped with modern technology. The plant’s annual production capacity is 20 million liters. Given the country’s annual demand of 15 million liters, the company is scheduled to export its products to Russia, Georgia and Central Asian countries. Production of a wide assortment of medicines is planned for the near future. “Diamed” medicines manufacturing plant employs currently 100 people.
